Sweet Bread with tea- Roat wah chai
Sweet Bread is one of the popular dessert that is served with tea.
First of all, you need a round bowl to mix your ingredients.
You will need:
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- Yeast (For better results Yeast is mixed with sugar in warm water then added to the mixture)
- 1 cup oil
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbs minced Cardamom
Mix all the ingredients well with a hand mixer or electronic mixer
Once all your ingredients are mixed well…start adding the flour until you get a soft dough and then knead dough for few minutes…
Cover the dough with a plastic first and cover it with a piece of clothing and leave it for at least 3 hours…
On a pan for baking,…..shape the dough into a big round shape…
Make holes in it using a fork…
Finally all you need is:
- Black Caraway seeds and
- Poppy seeds
That’s what make the bread taste different from a regular cake…
Bake it for 30 minutes…and then you can optionally polish it with egg yolk and milk mixture to give it a good shine.
Put it back in the oven and bake for another 5 minutes.
Here,I use this amazing egg separator to give me just the yolk for the mixture:
And voila it is ready…you can cut it up into small pieces and serve it with or without hot tea…
most likely with Good cardamom black or green tea…
The most important ingredient for Afghani Tea is Cardamom….which gives it a nice taste and smell…
you can add it just like that or mince it …so there you go guys all you need is :
- Hot boiling water
- Black tea or green tea
- Minced cardamom
Mince cardamom in a coffee grinder.
If you don’t have one….just break it in half and add it in tea.
Add black tea and minced cardamom in a tea pot and add boiling hot water
Wait few minutes before serving for better results.
And There you go …you serve it with sweet bread or any other sweet dish…
