Ingredients
Cooking oil one cup
Semolina flour one cup Ard e Suji
Sugar one cup
Cardamom one tablespoon
Saffron one teaspoon
Sugar two tablespoons
Water as much as required
Directions
- Heat a pot and add the vegetable cooking oil. Once the oil is hot, add the semolina flour.
- Keep stirring and add the rest of the semolina flour.
- Continue stirring and add the sugar.
- In a spice grinder, combine the two tablespoons of sugar and the saffron. The sugar helps grind the saffron into a fine powder.
- Transfer the powdered sugar and saffron to a small bowl.
- Add water to the bowl and mix well.
- Pour this mixture into the pot.
- Keep stirring and add the cardamom.
- Mix well and add the chopped and peeled almonds.
- Keep stirring and add water.
- Continue adding water and stirring until the halwa is fully cooked and mildly soft.
